Bodhi's favorite fleece jacket made from recycled 2-liter bottles! Thanks Grampa Bob, it finally fits!
Wow, a lot of stories since the last post!! The most important milestone today was the first bite of liquidy solid food! Organic brown rice cereal. Bodhi was a total natural, knew exactly what he was doing from start to finish. I think the kid's going to be a good eater. We are excited to try mashed bananas later this week... It should be fun to see his reaction since he's been stuck on the same flavor for the last 6 months, well depending on what Mama's had to eat of course. Except for that day with the pickle...
It was Jessica's 30th bday last week, and Aunt Kimbawee was in town so we all met up for lunch. I may have mentioned this before, but everytime Bodhi hangs out with Lucinda, he picks up a new skill. A few months back he started sleeping through the night. Then he watched Lucinda in the high chair being fed and insisted on me feeding him the pizza in my hand. This time we were saying good bye to Lucinda, and she has learned how to wave and say "buh bye" which is so adorable so we did it probably 20 times. After they left, Kim started in on Bodhi who was working on the "B" sound. She's a teacher so she knows a few things about phonics. She repeated "buh-bye" over and over again until Bodhi said it...clear....as...day. We were astounded!!! Then I said to Kim, mid-hysteria, no, this has to be a fluke, the kid has never mumbled anything resembling a word before. So I said Kim, if he says it again, it's for real, if not, it was a fluke. Then he said it once again, crystal clear. I nearly passed out. The kid is a genius. If you know Kim, you know the reaction out of her and the both of us. We were in hysterics and crying and laughing. I think we might have freaked him out a bit with our carrying on since I haven't heard a peep of that word since. He's probably afraid of the reaction he'd get!!!
In the last few months Bodhi has gotten even more aware, I'd say almost completely aware of his surroundings. He knows people's voices and faces, and is reaching and grabbing for everything. He is unafraid to leap towards anything that looks fun to grab and still really likes to shove everything in his mouth. He's getting savvy with the nap times though, and protests
Mama when he's not ready. I used to be able to override his vetoes, but he's too smart to be fooled. Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come!
His favorite activity is (still) making farting noises with his mouth (and his rear end too, gets that from his daddy) and it gets quite the excited laughter out of him! Today my mom and Mark were over to watch his first solid meal and at one point all 5 of us were making farting noises with our mouths.

He also caught a bit of a cough and runny nose last week but is getting better. Shockingly neither Ryan nor I caught it, and hopefully the nursing sped Bodhi's recovery. Here is a funny video of him snoring. Hopefully I'm not the only one who thinks it's super cute!
