Well we found out the cause of his first fever....his first tooth!! We had a couple of rough days and then I noticed a bit of white just underneath the tissue. Once the tooth started pushing out, Bodhi was fine again. He was happy to put everything in his mouth (including his Vans shoes), but that was nothing new! Here are some attempts at photos of the pearly white. It's on the bottom left of his cute little jaw. (In case you didn't already figure this out, you can double click on these photos and they enlarge so you can take a closer look. Not all of the photos can be enlarged though and I'm not sure why...)

Bodhi's new favorite face
Yesterday Bodhi woke up with his first bonafide fever. Of course we were both so worried, I called home from work every two hours for status updates. We had two rough nights but he's a lot better now. I really think sleep is the cure for a lot of ailments, so I'm hoping for a really good night's sleep tonight (for both of us) and we should be back to normal very soon!
By the way, feel free to put a "comment" on our page. Although the blog is mostly for the grandparents and outta town friends, it's always good to hear from the audience. Do you have a topic you'd like Bodhi to discuss? Interested in how the books "Where is Baby's Belly Button" or "The Hungry Caterpillar" end? Drop us a line!

Mama's First Mama's Day!
This unbelievably wonderful poem was courtesy of my son. (Although I think a ghost writer was involved somehow!)
Mother's day number one
aren't you glad you had a son?
I may only be 7 months old
but my opinions can be very bold
we've been through a lot in my first year
the sleeping, the pooping, and all my gear!
and I know I can be fussy when it comes to eating
but I really appreciate that I'm still breastfeeding
my communication is coming along slow
but on this Mother's Day I'd like you to know
behind every smile, giggle, grunt, and "agooo"
my heart is beaming "Mama I love you!"
-Mister Bodhi Curtis Binns
We spent the whole weekend celebrating. Yesterday (Saturday) we went to Quail Botanical Gardens for a Chocolate Festival. It was a lot of fun, and there were quite a few chocolate tasting booths we visited. My favorite was the dark chocolate fountain, where you put a strawberry skewer underneath the "waterfall". Ryan liked the fudge brownies and a triple chocolate truffle. Ahh, it was a good day. As you can see, Bodhi can't wait to get in on the action.

There was a model train track and plenty of kids running around for Bodhi to watch (most of them were strung out on the chocolate.) Since I am technically a biologist, I quizzed myself on all the native plants in the xeriscaping exhibit. This stand of bamboo sure made us feel tiny!
Bodhi also used a sippy cup for the first time. He prefers to chew on the mouthpiece than actually use it to dispense water.

We are going to have our hands full
Maybe we can direct some of that energy to helping Mama with the laundry?
