Baby Bodhi was so excited to join the world that he inhaled some placental fluid (and probably meconium) and has a little infection so he has to stay here at the hospital for a few extra days but he is a big, strong boy and is getting better every day.
For those not versed in eastern text, his name is Sanskrit in origin (classic
Indian language) and is the name of the tree the Buddha sat under and gained enlightenment (nirvana). It's pronounced "Bo-dee" and means "awakened one, or enlightened one". We visited the
Bodhi Tree and its heart-shaped leaves at the
Mahabodhi Temple in Bodhgaya, India during our travels and it is a very special place we hope to take Baby Bodhi to one day.
