Bodhi's day out

Bodhi had a busy day today. He ran lots of errands with mom and dad, and even got his Social Security Card in the mail...he's official now! Here are some photos of his big day...

First stop...the Post Office
Nothing like a good frozen yoghurt on a warm day running errands.
Then on to Longs Drugs for a night light
And one last stop at the bank before heading home along the boardwalk

Close-ups and a walk to the beach

We got a new sling in the mail yesterday and took Bodhi out for a test walk to the beach for dusk patrol. He seemed to like it and it allows mom and dad to have free hands and is better than taking the stroller on the beach. This beach is a block and a half from our new house. I even jumped in the water for a nice sunset swim. The weather has been perfect and the water is quite refreshing!

We finally got to take Bodhi home last night and we think he was awfully excited to leave the hospital. Here are some new photos of him getting ready to leave the hospital and him enjoying his new house.

More on Baby Bodhi...

Baby Bodhi was so excited to join the world that he inhaled some placental fluid (and probably meconium) and has a little infection so he has to stay here at the hospital for a few extra days but he is a big, strong boy and is getting better every day.

For those not versed in eastern text, his name is Sanskrit in origin (classic Indian language) and is the name of the tree the Buddha sat under and gained enlightenment (nirvana). It's pronounced "Bo-dee" and means "awakened one, or enlightened one". We visited the Bodhi Tree and its heart-shaped leaves at the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodhgaya, India during our travels and it is a very special place we hope to take Baby Bodhi to one day.

Bodhi Curtis Binns

It's a boy! Welcome the newest member of the family...Bodhi Curtis Binns was born on October 6, 2008 at 8:12am. He weighs 8lbs and 21 inches long.

Mom is sore (no epidural!), but doing well. Bodhi is fighting an infection, but will be fine and we should be able to take him home in a few days.
